What makes your honey the best?

We use organic beekeeping which means we never put chemical treatments on our honeybees and our bees spend their days on 18 organic acres of wildflower, herbs, clover and fruit trees.

We never sugar-feed our bees. Instead, they draw nectar naturally from the vast array of organic sources on our farm thus producing the purest, most nutritious honey available.

We never heat or pasteurize our honey which means it comes straight from the hive to the bottle with all of its abundant antioxidants, enzymes and nutrients intact.

We use bee-friendly beekeeping methods which means we only harvest when the bees allow us to and only take what they can give us.

All of these factors combined produce the healthiest, tastiest and eco-friendliest honey ever.

Why does honey have different colors and tastes?

The color and flavor of honey is dependent on the type of flower nectar that the bees collect. Generally, lighter honey comes from flowers with lighter nectar and darker honey comes from flowers with darker nectar.

What is the shelf life of BW&HC honey?

Honey has an indefinite shelf life if stored properly in a cool, dry place. It may crystallize over time, but this is normal and can be eaten as is or easily remedied by gently heating the honey.

Who are we?

Our Story

Maggie and Mike here. Hey there and welcome! Our story started about 10 years ago when Mike's family started a goat, sheep and alpaca farm along with a produce CSA. Mike soon became interested in beekeeping starting with 1 hive, then 2, then 3, and now we have close to 60 hives. I (Maggie) started making soap and doing all things bottling, packaging and marketing.
